We all have our own goals and aspirations related to health and fitness. For some it’s to be healthier, for others it’s to be fitter and stronger, and some strive to achieve peak performance.

Whatever our goal is, and no matter how strong our intentions are, life will get in the way.

We are not professional athletes, each day we are pulled in a number of different directions - and we need to account for these disruptions as we navigate the path to our potential. 

It is important to understand and accept this reality before we begin, and be ready to adapt when things don’t go as we initially planned them.

THE PERFORMANCE JOURNAL DAY 12 🌱

Recovery was at 46% to start the week, likely due to a strenuous Sunday Run.

The knees were feeling beat up after Sundays 10×400m Run, so I swapped out back squat for some long duration isometric holds to help relieve the pain and tenderness of the tendons.

The session of the day was a Lower Body Strength and Upper Hypertrophy Session:

Leg Extension Isometrics

Lying Hamstring Curl

Dumbbell Bench Press

Chest Supported Row

Bicep Work

Resilience Block

Being sensibly optimistic is being consistent in doing the right things, whilst expectant of obstacles to appear in our path to progress.

Being a sensible optimist will see your progress graph go up and to the right over time despite the day-to-day ups and downs that come with being a human 🌱
