At Organic Strength we guarantee you will get stronger when you follow one our programmes.
There are up to 5 methods that we implement that enable our members to get strong, but today we are shining a light on one important trick..
Our members are evidence that this works, and works very very well (keep reading to see our member spotlight).
We use something called Phase Potentiation, which means that we use one training phase to set us up for even greater growth in the following month/phase of training.
The tip we are revealing to you today is called Paused Reps. We use these within our main strength lift within all of our three weekly sessions.
If I asked you, “What is the toughest part of the movement in a Back Squat?”
You would probably say the bottom portion, or when you’re in ‘the hole’ - essentially the deepest point of the squat.
This is a sticking point for the majority of us.
This deep point of the squat is what stops us from progressing in terms of weight on the bar & ultimately gains in strength…
So how do we get past that sticking point in our strength lifts?…

We do this by pausing momentarily in the bottom position (like you see in the image above).
The pause does a few things:
Places the muscles under tension for longer = muscle growth
Activates a greater number of muscle fibres = stronger
Improves weak points in the lift (like we mentioned earlier) = stronger
Removes cheating through bouncing / swinging = no more half rep harry’s 😂
